Paper cake topper

E' una giornata grigia e nuvolosa, ma il sole c'è lo stesso, e sta dentro di noi!
E' il mio compleanno: un compleanno inportante, 35 anni, un compleanno passato fino adesso tra cartoncini colorati, colla, bisturi e forbici... A sbagliare, provare, riprovare, piangere e ridere...

It's a gray, cloudy day, but the sun there is the same, and lies within us! 
It's my birthday, an important birthday, 35, birthday past until now between colored cardboards, glue, scissors and scalpel ... To mistake, to try, try again, cry and laugh...

Adesso però mi devo riposare un attimo, salutarvi tutti sui social (grazie, grazie grazie per ogni parola, ogni what's up, ogni messaggio, per le telefonate)...

But now I need to rest a moment, to greet everyone on the social (thank you, thank you, thank you for every word, every what's up, every message, phone calls)...

E soprattutto, mettere a posto questo casino sul mio tavolooooo!!! :-P

Domani sono a Bologna, per il workshop da Gaia, non vedo l'ora di abbracciarvi!!!

Qualche mese fa mi ha contattato perchè le sarebbe piaciuto annunciare la nascita del suo bambino Giovanni in modo diverso, ma anche per arredare la nursery con un'illustrazione che ritraesse la sua famiglia (gatto compreso!) in un giorno così speciale...
La foto non è delle mie migliori, ma vorrei dirvi due parole su come è stato realizzato il disegno: ovviamente Alessandra mi ha mandato una foto di lei e suo marito, ho studiato i personaggi, ed ogni singola parte è di cartoncino, tagliato ed incollato, compresi pois, righe della tutina, tasche dei pantaloni, i baffi di Muffin. Le misure sono 24x24 cm.
Benvenuto Giovanni, l'amore della tua mamma e del tuo papà non ti mancheranno mai! :)

You know Alessandra of the blog Almalu's Place? 
A few months ago he contacted me because she would like to announce the birth of her baby Giovanni in a different way, but also to decorate the nursery with an illustration which portray her family (cat included!) in such a special day ... 
The photo is not of my best, but I would like to say a few words about how it was made the design: of course Alessandra sent me a picture of her and her husband, I studied the characters, and every single part is cardboard, cut and pasted including rows of onesie, dots, pants pockets, the mustache of Muffin. Measures are 24x24 cm. 
Welcome Giovanni, the love of your mom and your dad will not miss ever! :)

Cioè, oggi è il 7 Gennaio e ancora un po' il primo post dell'anno lo scrivo a Febbraio!!
Durante queste vacanze di Natale sono stata molto offline: ho dato spazio alle conversazioni vere, di persona; agli incontri con gli amici, alle chiacchiere con mio fratello camminando per ore...
E' proprio vero, all'inizio dell'anno ci si ritrova a fare progetti, a porsi nuovi obbiettivi...

That is, today is January 7 and still a bit, the first post of the year I write in February! 
During these Christmas holidays I have been very offline: I have given space to real conversations, with the persons, in meetings with friends, to chat with my brother walking for hours...
It 's true, at the beginning of the year you find yourself to make plans, to set new goals ...

Quest'anno, ancor di più di quelli passati, per me si prospetta come un libro pieno di fogli bianchi su chi scrivere, disegnare, e ritagliare. E questo mi fa stare bene.
Quest'anno, più che mai, la creatività, il disegno, saranno la mia cura, e le mani tradurranno quello che le parole non sanno raccontare...
Vorrei cominciare con una piccola illustrazione, e un "grazie". Per quello che ho. Senza guardare quello che manca. Mi sembra un buon inizio.

This year, even more than those of the past, for me promises to be a book full of blank sheets of those who write, draw, and cut out. And this thing make me feel well.
This year, more than ever, creativity, drawing, will be my care, and hands will translate what words can't tell...
I would start with a small illustration, and a "thank you". For what I have. Without looking at what is missing. That seems a good start.
