Ciao ragazze, buon Lunedì!
Qui piove come se non avesse mai piovuto... In 7 anni che abito al mare non ho mai visto tanta pioggia e vento forte... In inverno certo le mareggiate sono numerose, ma mai così frequenti e furiose come quest'anno! Casa è grigissima, e c'è davvero poca luce!
Queste foto che vi mostro, invece, le ho fatte settimana scorsa, in una delle giornate in cui il sole è tornato a farsi vedere...
Hello girls, good Monday!
Here's raining as if it had never rained ... In the 7 years that I live at the sea I have never seen so much rain and strong wind ... In winter storms are numerous, certainly, but never so frequent and furious as this year! My house is very grey, and there is little light indeed!
The pics that I show, however, I made last week, in one of the days when the sun is back...
Durante questo periodo grigio ho iniziato a fare una mood board: giorno per giorno aggiungevo qualcosa, ritagli di riviste, cartoline, tags... Molte cose sono dei ricordi, come il cuore origami fatto da Sara, e un bellissimo anemone di carta realizzato da Manuela, che però potete vedere solo qui.
Sono sempre stata una persona a cui piacciono i colori, soprattutto i colori forti. Per qualche strano motivo (si sa, noi donne siamo un po' strane a volte! ;) ) ho cercato di soffocare questa cosa, pensando di essere troppo esagerata, e poco elegante... Una volta per tutte mi sono detta: sono un'illustratrice per l'infanzia. Amo l'ironia, il gioco, la creatività. Bright colors. E basta! ;)
During this gray period I started to do a mood board: I added something every day, magazine clippings, postcards, tags... Many things are memories, like origami heart made by Sara, and a beautiful paper anemone made by Manuela, but you can only see here.
I've always been a person who likes the colors, above all bright colors. For some strange reason (you know, we women are a bit strange at times ;) ) I tried to smother this thing, thinking they were too exaggerated, and not very elegant... Once and for all I said to myself: I am an illustrator for children. I love the irony, play, creativity. Bright colors. And that's it! ;)
Forse ci voleva una punta di verde smeraldo e qualche tocco di rosso, senza esagerare, solo un tocco... Ma per adesso va bene lo stesso! ;)
Finalmente sabato, dopo anni e anni che disegno, ho preso all'Ikea una bella cassettiera per tutti le mie carte ed i cartoncini... (Nonchè alcune cose della
collezione Bråkig... E chi non le ha comprate?!)
Lo studio adesso è veramente ben sistemato, pur essendo una piccolissima stanza!

Maybe it took a bit of emerald green and a touch of red, without exaggeration, just a touch... But for now that's okay! ;)
At last Saturday, after years and years of drawing, I took a nice Ikea chest of drawers for all my papers and cardboards... (Plus some things of Bråkig collection... And who has not buy it?!)
The studio is really well placed, although a very small room!
