Prossimo workshop con me: da Contemori bottega creativa

Graphic design by Laura Contemori

I did not have time to finish a workshop that was organized already another one!
I'm very happy, especially because also this time I will have an exceptional setting, that is the shop of Laura Contemori in Pistoia, Tuscany.
Laura makes handmade beautiful creatures of fabric, whales, owls, elephants, but also clutch bags, bibs, houses ... Her shop is a place a little magic and enchanted, so when she have proposed to do a workshop from her, I accepted with great enthusiasm!

On Saturday I held my first workshop of paper cutting in a special library in Frosinone, cArtaria.

I got up very early, and the cars on the road were very few ...

Arrival at destination, meeting Silvia and Sandro, respectively daughter and dad, who together have created this space full of books, paintings, prints, curiosity ... I didn't know where stop my eyes!

Arriva il primo gruppo, e ci mettiamo subito a lavorare!

Here comes the first group, and we start straight to work!

We report the drawing on the sheet and begin to carve...

Le partecipanti sono molto concentrate...

The participants are highly concentrated ...

... but we have also talked a lot and we have exchanged experiences!

Each one reflected on the imperfections of their work, but instead I pointed out that all together, we had created something beautiful!
I was very excited ...! I thank Silvia and Sandro who welcomed and hosted me in their beautiful library making all this possible, and the participants to cimentate with enthusiasm in this technique they never used.
And you, you want to try? :)

DIY Halloween jars

Halloween is definitely a party who really like the children, is an occasion to dress up, eat some candy in addition, and most importantly, to play!
And what better way than to make jokes and scares?
Playing "blind" and do the ghosts always amuses our little ... So I thought of the lanterns to create even more atmosphere in these hours dedicated to the Halloween party!

Prepare them is very simple, you need:
glass jars, also vary in size and shape, black cardboard, scissors, glue, brush, candles
.

Cut from black cardboard so many little stars and bats. For those who feel denied with the drawing, you can download and print in A4 my model by clicking here!
Of course you can add ghosts, pumpkins, cats blacks ... Even according to the manual and the age of the children.

With the brush past the glue on the cardboard and glue it to the jar, hold it down for a few moments.

Proceed to paste your clippings covering the whole jar, insert a candle and ...

My Washi Tape: workshop!

Ciao a tutti!

One afternoon between women, some of them already knew each other, and the other is taken immediately the great feeling that exists between those who love the creativity and those who have chosen this way as a style of life!
Many want to do, to try, to play ... But also a great desire to tell their stories and to compare ...
And the time is never enough! :)

I came home with many new washi tapes (hi hi hi!), many smiles in my heart, and a notebook that Anabella has given to each of us, where pinning our thoughts, ideas, dreams, spontaneously ...

info@cartaria.org
o a me:
giochidicarta@gmail.com

Vi lascio inoltre i riferimenti di cARTaria: website e facebook
Vi aspetto! :)

October we start with some good news: I will hold a workshop Saturday 26th of paper cutting, in Frosinone!
I am very happy, of course, and especially because it takes place in a very particular context: this meeting is organized with cARTaria, bookstore near Largo Turriziani, a historic square in the center of the city.
cARTaria welcomes valuable books, magazines, postcards, photographs, antiques and newer. Ther'are special books ranging from archeology, to art and cinema; photography, architecture, cooking, travel, history, literature, manuals, numismatics, local history and children's books, as well as rare first editions that depart from the fifteenth century until the last century.
Within this library, so rich in ancient books and art, in a suggestive architecture with essential and modern taste, are organized small events and exhibitions, making it a dynamic and unique place for Frosinone ... So I can only be proud to have been approached to hold a workshop inside!

The materials are provided; I will be sure to prepare drawings for carving with varying degrees of difficulty, but also everyone is free to develop its own project.
