Non ho fatto in tempo a finire un workshop che ne è stato organizzato già un altro!
Sono molto felice, soprattutto perchè anche questa volta avrò una cornice d'eccezione, cioè la bottega di Laura Contemori, a Pistoia, in Toscana.
Laura realizza a mano splendide creature di stoffa, balene, gufi, elefanti, ma anche pochette, bavaglini, casette... La sua bottega è un posto un po' magico ed incantato, così quando mi ha proposto di fare un workshop da lei ho accettato con grande entusiasmo!

I did not have time to finish a workshop that was organized already another one! 
I'm very happy, especially because also this time I will have an exceptional setting, that is the shop of Laura Contemori in Pistoia, Tuscany. 
Laura makes handmade beautiful creatures of fabric, whales, owls, elephants, but also clutch bags, bibs, houses ... Her shop is a place a little magic and enchanted, so when she have proposed to do a workshop from her, I accepted with great enthusiasm!

Il mio workshop da cArtaria

Sabato ho tenuto il mio primo workshop di paper cutting in una libreria speciale a Frosinone, cArtaria.

On Saturday I held my first workshop of paper cutting in a special library in Frosinone, cArtaria.

Mi sono alzata molto presto, e le macchine lungo la strada erano davvero poche...

I got up very early, and the cars on the road were very few ...

Arrivo a destinazione, incontro Silvia e Sandro, rispettivamente figlia e papà, che hanno creato insieme questo spazio pieno di libri, quadri, stampe, curiosità... Non sapevo dove fermare gli occhi!

Arrival at destination, meeting Silvia and Sandro, respectively daughter and dad, who together have created this space full of books, paintings, prints, curiosity ... I didn't know where stop my eyes!

Arriva il primo gruppo, e ci mettiamo subito a lavorare!

Here comes the first group, and we start straight to work!

Riportiamo il disegno sul foglio e iniziamo a intagliare...

We report the drawing on the sheet and begin to carve...

Le partecipanti sono molto concentrate...

The participants are highly concentrated ...

... ma si è anche parlato molto e scambiato esperienze!

... but we have also talked a lot and we have exchanged experiences!

Ognuna rifletteva sulle imperfezioni del proprio lavoro, ma io invece ho fatto notare che tutte insieme, avevamo creato qualcosa di bellissimo!
Io ero molto emozionata...! Ringrazio Silvia e Sandro che mi hanno accolto e ospitata nella loro splendida libreria rendendo tutto questo possibile, e le partecipanti di essersi cimentate con entusiasmo in questa tecnica da loro mai utilizzata.
E a voi è venuta voglia di provare?! :)

Each one reflected on the imperfections of their work, but instead I pointed out that all together, we had created something beautiful! 
I was very excited ...! I thank Silvia and Sandro who welcomed and hosted me in their beautiful library making all this possible, and the participants to cimentate with enthusiasm in this technique they never used.

DIY Halloween jars

Halloween è sicuramente una festa che piace molto ai bambini: è un'occasione per travestirsi, mangiare qualche dolcetto in più, e soprattutto, per giocare!
E quale modo migliore se non quello di fare scherzi e spaventi?
Giocare "al buio" e a fare i fantasmi diverte sempre molto i nostri piccoli... Così ho pensato a delle lanterne per creare ancora più atmosfera in queste ore dedicate alla festa di Halloween!
Prepararle è molto semplice, vi occorre:
barattoli di vetro, anche di diverse dimensioni e forma, cartoncino nero, forbici, colla vinilica, pennello, candele.

Halloween is definitely a party who really like the children, is an occasion to dress up, eat some candy in addition, and most importantly, to play!
And what better way than to make jokes and scares?
Playing "blind" and do the ghosts always amuses our little ... So I thought of the lanterns to create even more atmosphere in these hours dedicated to the Halloween party! 
Prepare them is very simple, you need:
glass jars, also vary in size and shape, black cardboard, scissors, glue, brush, candles.

Ritagliate dal cartoncino nero tante stelline e i pipistrelli. Per chi si sente negato con il disegno, può scaricare e stampare in A4 il mio modello cliccando qui!
Naturalmente si possono aggiungere fantasmini, zucche, gatti neri... Anche in base alla manualità ed all'età dei bambini.

Cut from black cardboard so many little stars and bats. For those who feel denied with the drawing, you can download and print in A4 my model by clicking here!
Of course you can add ghosts, pumpkins, cats blacks ... Even according to the manual and the age of the children.

Con il pennello passate la colla vinilica sul cartoncino e incollatelo al vasetto, tenendolo premuto per alcuni istanti.

With the brush past the glue on the cardboard and glue it to the jar, hold it down for a few moments.

Procedete ad incollare i vostri ritagli ricoprendo tutto il vasetto, inserite una candela e...

Proceed to paste your clippings covering the whole jar, insert a candle and ...

... aspettate la sera!
Le candele accese proietteranno intorno le sagome dei cartoncini e non vi rimane che cominciare il gioco: dolcetto o scherzetto?
