Origami Ball XL

Buongiorno e buon inizio di settimana!
Io ho passato uno splendido weekend e ripartire oggi è stato un po' traumatico :-P
Ho diverse cose da mostrarvi che ho realizzato nei mesi scorsi e che i ritmi di lavoro/famiglia non mi hanno consentito di mostrarvi... Quindi iniziamo!
Questo è un origami "gigante" realizzato per una commissione privata: sono sempre elettrizzata quando ricevo una richiesta che sprona le mie capacità e che si presenta come un nuovo obbiettivo da raggiungere! :)

Hello and good start to the week! 
I spent a wonderful weekend and start today was a bit traumatic :-P 
I have several things to show you that I have made in recent months and that the pace of work/family does not have enabled me to show you ... So let's start! 
This is an "giant" origami made for a private commission: I'm always thrilled when I get a request that spurs my skills and that comes as a new goal to reach! :)

"Ma sapresti farmi una pallina origami come quella della foto, ma con il diametro di almeno 20-25 cm?
"Sì certo!"
E' stata una bella sfida elaborare un nuovo modello così grande, trovare le giuste proporzioni tra larghezza, altezza e numero delle pieghe, non nascondo di aver provato diverse soluzioni prima di trovare quella giusta!
Ma alla fine quanta soddisfazione a vederla nascere tra le mie mani!

"But you'd know make me an origami ball like that of the photo, but with at least 20-25 cm in diameter? 
"Yes sure!" 
It was a challenge develop a new model so large, finding the right proportions between width, height and number of folds, I can't deny that he had tried several solutions before finding the right one!
But in the end how much satisfaction to see it birth in my hands!

  
Ho scattato queste foto con di fianco una delle mie palline origami che conoscete, e che ha diametro di circa 8 cm, per rendervi conto di quanto è grande quella commissionata.
Adesso vorrei farne una anche per me! E metterla accanto a dei vasi sulle mensole, o sul tavolino davanti al divano, o nella libreria!

xmas workshop {a casa di alice}

A Novembre il mio calendario sarà ricco di attività e non vedo l'ora di condividerlo con voi! ^^
Inizio con l'annunciarvi il nuovo workshop "A casa di Alice", cioè a Bologna da Gaia! La mia avventura dei corsi è iniziata con lei e sono felice ogni anno di poter ripetere questa meravigliosa esperienza a casa sua, conoscervi, ridere insieme, mangiare uno dei suoi deliziosi pranzetti e farvi giocare con la carta!

In November my calendar will be full of activities and can't wait to share it with you! ^^ 
I start with the announce the new workshop "A casa di Alice", that is, in Bologna at Gaia's home! My adventure courses began with her and I'm happy every year to repeat this wonderful experience at her home, meet you, laugh together, eat one of her delicious lunches and let you play with paper!

Stelle origami! Perfette per decorare l'albero, come chiudipacco, appese alle finestre... 

Origami stars! Perfect to decorate the Christmas tree, as gift tags, hanging in the windows... 

Questi deliziosi abeti! Potete usarli come decorazione per la tavola, per creare un angolo poetico a casa, fare una ghirlanda... Poi vi insegnerò anche a fare le palline!
Sarà dunque un workshop a tutto tondo sulle decorazioni natalizie con la tecnica dell'origami!

These delicious firs! You can use it as decoration for the table, to create a poetic corner at home, make a garland... Then I will teach you also to make the balls!

Origami Star

Buon lunedì! Sto pensando a cosa proporvi per farvi giocare con la carta ;) durante i prossimi workshop... In questi giorni sperimenterò un po' di cose nuove, intanto che cosa ne dite di questa stella origami nel mio colore preferito? Semplice ed elegante nello stesso tempo! :)

Good Monday! I'm thinking of what to propose to let you play with the paper ;) during the next workshop... These days I will experience a bit of new things, meanwhile, what do you think of this star origami in my favorite color? Simple and elegant at the same time! :)

Workshop Origami

Buongiorno! Siete appassionati di origami come me? Il 7 Maggio farò un workshop ad Albano Laziale, in provincia di Roma! Sarò ospite da TUedIO Design, creatori di abbigliamento per bambini e Associazione che organizza corsi, laboratori e letture animate!
Sarà un evento proposto ai bambini e alle loro mamme, quindi un momento speciale per condividere ed imparare una cosa nuova insieme!
I piccoli saranno guidati nella realizzazione di questi cuori e fiocchi origami, che decoreranno dei biglietti di auguri per la festa della mamma! :)
Per tutti coloro che vogliono passare a fare un saluto potrete trovare una piccola esposizione dei miei lavori con la carta!

Good morning! Are you origami enthusiasts like me? On May 7, I'll do a workshop at Albano Laziale, in the province of Rome! I will be guest from TUedIO Design, creators of clothing for children and association that organizes courses, workshops and interactive guide! 
An event will be proposed to the children and their mothers, so a special moment to share and learn something new together! 
The children will be guided in making these hearts and origami bows, which will decorate the greeting cards for Mother's Day! :) 
For all those who want to move to say hello you can find a small exhibition of my works with paper!

Giochi di Carta a Merry Handmade Roma

Ci siamo, domani è il grande giorno, quello di apertura del Merry Handmade Roma! Come al solito a questo tipo di eventi non riesco mai ad arrivare "preparata", ho ancora delle cose da terminare, mi dimenticherò sicuramente qualcosa a casa... Insomma l'emozione avrete capito è tanta, perchè è la prima volta (e aggiungerei finalmente!) che c'è una così bella iniziativa a Roma, peraltro in una zona molto vivace come quella del Pigneto! :)

Here we are, tomorrow is the big day, the opening of Merry Handmade Roma! As usual in this type of events I can never get "prepared", I still have things to finish, I surely forget something at home... So you understand the emotion is so great, because it is the first time (and I would add finally!) that there is such a good initiative in Rome, however, in a very lively district as that of Pigneto! :)

Cosa troverete? Le palline origami, perchè quest'anno l'albero lo volete fare diverso, perchè vi manca quell'angolino da decorare, perchè le avrete solo voi! :-P
Delle decorazioni origami di forma esagonale con inscritta una stella; le mie stelle 3D per decorare i vostri pacchetti o da appendere per creare un paesaggio incantato.
Natale è il momento in cui si desidera, qualcosa, in cui chiediamo qualcosa... create l'atmosfera giusta, che vi faccia sognare! :)

Christmas origami balls

Parliamo ancora di Natale! :)
Ho fatto queste foto a Dicembre, ma ve le mostro solo ora perchè queste palline origami sono state scelte da Dama Comunicazione come regalo di azienda... E non potevo svelare la sorpresa! ;)

We still talk about Christmas! :) 
I took these photos in December, but I'll show you just now because these balls origami were chosen by Dama Communication as gift company... And I couldn't reveal the surprise! ;)

Fare origami mi rilassa quanto disegnare: mi basta avere la musica e posso andare avanti per ore! Così è stata una bella sfida piegare 70 palline in un tempo abbastanza ristretto... Ma chi mi conosce sa bene che amo le sfide! ;)

Do origami relaxes me how to draw: I just have the music and I can go on for hours! So it was a good challenge fold 70 balls in a fairly narrow time... But who knows me knows that I love challenges! ;)

Sono state scelte 3 carte a fantasie differenti, verde, rossa e questa che vi mostro e che è la mia preferita: un motivo con l'agrifoglio in letterpress con le bacche oro, riprese dal nastro.

Were chosen 3 papers in different patterns, green, red, and I show you this and that is my favorite: a pattern in letterpress with holly and gold berries, as the ribbon to hang them.

Per le confezioni ho scelto SelfPackaging, le scatoline craft le trovo sempre perfette! La foto l'ho fatta sul tavolo vicino alla finestra per la luce... ma avevo tutto il pavimento dello studio invaso di scatole! :)))

To pack I choose SelfPackaging, for me the craft boxes are always perfect! I took the pic on the table by the window for the light... But I had all over the floor of the studio invaded of boxes! :)))

Dama Comunicazione di occupa di consulenza strategica, editoria, web, formazione e, appunto comunicazione: sul biglietto che accompagnava le palline hanno scritto "Auguri con le palle"! Forte no?! :)

Dama Communication deals with strategic consulting, publishing, web, training and, of course, communication: on the greeting card that accompanied the balls have written "Best wishes with balls"! Strong, no?! :) 

New origami

Ragazze, qui piove a dirotto da giorni! Fare foto è praticamente impossibile... Ma circa 20 minuti fa è spuntato un raggio di sole, anche se continuava a piovere!
Allora ho preso di corsa la reflex, ho fatto spazio sul tavolo e ho fatto qualche foto per mostrarvi le ultime cose (di carta) a cui sto lavorando...! :)

Girls, here it rains for days! Taking photos is practically impossible... But about 20 minutes ago is popped a ray of sunshine, even if still raining! 
Then I take right away the camera, I made space on the table and I took some pictures to show you the last things (of paper) I'm working on...! :)

Un nastro oro e delle palline origami bianche, a formare una ghirlanda, nuovi esperimenti di forme, origami di grandi dimensioni pensati per l'home decor... Vi piacciono?

Origami ball for Christmas

Oggi un post veloce veloce per dirvi che finalmente ho caricato  nel negozio le palline origami, che Natale ormai è dietro l'angolo...! ;)
Non vi scordate che se volete imparare a farle con me, io e Gaia vi aspettiamo il 13 Dicembre a Bologna, potete leggere maggiori info sul prossimo workshop qui!
Adesso vado a fare un'illustrazione per un bimbo che sta arrivando, non vedo l'ora di mostrarvela! :)
Non per ultimo... Ancora un grazie di cuore a tutte le persone che sono passate a salutarmi a Natale al Poggio... Siete state dolcissime, e le emozioni vissute domenica sono ancora tremendamente vive! ♥♥♥

Today a quick post to tell you that I finally loaded into the store the balls origami, now that Christmas is around the corner...! ;)

Workshop origami a casa di Alice {xmas edition}

Evviva! Oggi sono molto felice, perchè vi annuncio che io e Gaia abbiamo organizzato di nuovo un workshop insieme,  e si terrà il 13 Dicembre! Ne abbiamo fatti diversi nei mesi passati, c'è stato grande entusiasmo e partecipazione da parte vostra e noi siamo state molto soddisfatte di questa esperienza! :)

Hooray! Today I'm very happy because I announce that I and Gaia, we organized a workshop together again, and will be held on December 13! We have done different in the past months, there was great enthusiasm and participation on your part, and we have been very satisfied with this experience! :)

Questa volta però non faremo come di consueto un'illustrazione ed un paper cut; useremo sempre la carta, ma vi insegnerò come si fanno le palline origami e le stelle 3d per decorare l'albero di Natale e la vostra casa!

But this time we will not do, as usual, an illustration and a paper cut; we will use always paper, but I will teach you how to make origami balls and stars 3d for decorating the Christmas tree and your home!

Gaia è una persona stupenda e vi sorprenderà e vi sentirete davvero coccolati, io sarò felicissima di poter giocare con la carta con voi! ;)

Tutorial Origami Ball

Cari amici buon lunedì! Come primo post del mese di Novembre c'è un bel tutorial! Vi piace come inizio?! :)
Ormai è noto a tutti che le "geometrie" sono di gran tendenza nell'home decor, e devo dire che anche a me affascinano molto! In realtà sono sempre stata attratta dal rapporto "matematico" che c'è nel piagare la carta... Faccio origami da quando sono bambina; un giorno mio papà è tornato a casa con un libro, Origami Modulare di Tomoko Fuse. Niente mi è sembrato più magico di poter piegare tanti foglietti, unirli insieme (senza colla) e formare meravigliose stelle, dodecaedri, scatole... E' un libro che non mi ha mai abbandonato nel corso degli anni, e se adesso sono qui, capiterete che è anche grazie a questo!
Fare una pallina plissettata è un po' la stessa cosa dell'origami modulare, nel senso che dovete piegare nello stesso modo diverse volte, ma la magia sta proprio nel veder nascere piega dopo piega dalle proprie mani questo piccolo gioiello di carta!
Vediamo come si fa?! :)

Dear friends good Monday! As the first post of November there is a nice tutorial! I like the way you start ?! :)   
By now everyone knows that the "geometry" are all the trend in home decor, and I must say that fascinate me very much! In fact I have always been drawn to the report "mathematical" that there is folding the paper... I do origami since I was a child; one day my daddy came home with a book, Modular Origami by Tomoko Fuse. Nothing it seemed more magical to be able to fold many sheets, join them together (no glue) and make wonderful stars, dodecahedra, boxes... It's a book that I've never been abandoned over the years, and if I'm here now, you will understand that it is also thanks to this!  
Make a pleated ball is a bit the same thing of origami modular, meaning that you have to fold in the same way several times, but the magic lies by seeing come fold after fold from their own hands this little gem of paper!  
Let's see how?! :)

-Procuratevi un foglio di 10x35 cm di carta leggera. Io per fare pratica ho usato un foglio A4 (quindi più corto) ma dopo aver imparato, utilizzate le misure esatte.
-Con l'aiuto di un righello, dividete la lunghezza ogni 1 cm e piegate.

-Take a 10x35 cm sheet of thin paper. For practice I used an A4 sheet (therefore shorter) but after learning, use the exact measurements.  
-With the help of a ruler, divide the length of each 1 cm and folded.

 
-A sinistra vedete il foglio completamente piegato.
-Importante: voltate il foglio (come se doveste girare la pagina di un libro) e piegate a metà nel senso della lunghezza.

-To the left you see the fully folded sheet.
-Important: turn the page (as if you were turning the page of a book) and folded in half lengthwise.

-Sempre nel senso della lunghezza, piegate ad un centimetro sia dalla parte destra che sinistra.
-Con l'aiuto del righello, partendo dall'alto piegate il foglio diagonalmente ogni 2 righe orizzontali (osservate bene la foto per non sbagliare! ;) )

-Always In the direction of the length, fold at one centimeter from both the left and right sides.  
-With the help of the ruler, starting from above folded sheet diagonally every 2 horizontal lines (look carefully at the picture to get it right! ;) )

-Una volta aver completato il foglio con le diagonali in un verso, procedete con le diagonali nell'altro senso, ottenendo un reticolo di pieghe.
-A questo punto tutte queste pieghe vi serviranno come guida per rendere tridimensionale il foglio così come vedete in foto.

-Once you have completed the sheet with the diagonals in one direction, proceed with the diagonals in the opposite direction getting a grid of folds.  
-At this point all these folds will serve as your guide to render three-dimensional sheet as seen in the pic.

-In questa immagine potete vedere come si deve iniziare a piegare.

-In this picture you can see how you have to start folding.

-Per capire meglio come si deve presentare il foglio una volta completamente piegato osservate anche questi punti di vista.

-To better understand how you have to present the sheet when fully folded also observed these views.

-Utilizzate una perforatrice a pinza per forare tutte le estremità del foglio plissettato: questa operazione può anche essere fatta prima di piegare.
-Fate passare un filo attraverso i fori e legare. Prendere un nastrino, chiuderlo con un nodo ed inserirlo all'interno della pallina. Far passare il filo sottile anche attraverso i buchi nella parte inferiore e legare. 

-Use a pliers puncher to punch to all the ends of the pleated sheet: this can also be done before folding.  

-Pass a wire through the holes and tie. Take a ribbon, close it with a knot and place it inside the ball. Pass the thin wire through the holes in the bottom and tie.

-Con un pennello stendete della colla vinilica sulla parte del foglio piegato, chiudetelo su se stesso facendo combaciare i lati e...

-La vostra pallina decorativa è pronta!

Vi ricordo inoltre che potete trovare il diagramma delle pieghe nell'allegato Decor di CasaFacile di questo mese... Non perdetevelo!!! ;)

origami modulari come complemento di arredo

mooolto lentamente, sto cercando di sistemare una volta per tutte il mio studio...
da quando abitiamo in questa casa non so quanti spostamenti e varianti ho già fatto, eppure sono sempre alla ricerca di -quel dettaglio- che fa la differenza...
allora oggi vi mostro come ho sistemato un piccolo angolo della stanza da dove vi scrivo... :-)
ogni sera nei giorni scorsi, mi piegavo quattro o cinque moduli... fino ad averne 30, il numero necessario per ottenere questo poliedro stellato, pensato proprio per arredare un angolo di libreria, un tavolino in soggiorno (sempre che non ci siano bambini che vogliono capire come è fatto...!!)
vi devo dire la verità: era tanto che non assemblavo un origami di questo tipo...
non sapete quante volte ho dovuto rimettere i moduli che non stavano incastrati tra loro :-/ ma alla fine eccolo qua!!
considerando che sono partita con dei fogli quadrati di 12 cm, ottenere una stella di 18 cm dà grandi soddisfazioni, e soprattutto, fa la sua bella scena, anche se qualche punta non è proprio perfetta...!

la lettera attaccata al muro nella prima foto è giochi di carta, potete vedere come si fanno qui.

orecchini origami... 3 moduli

i primi orecchini origami postati nel blog sono tra gli articoli più letti... all'inizio erano passati un po' inosservati, poi, piano piano, l'attenzione è cresciuta...! sono contenta che li apprezziate!
allora, ho pensato di farvi vedere cos'altro si può fare: questi cubi sono realizzati con tre fogli quadrati di misura 7,5 cm, piegati nello stesso modo e assemblati tra loro.
come vedete in questo caso li ho agganciati ad una catenina, sono abbastanza lunghi, quando si cammina si sente che vanno di qua e di là, è divertente!

per i colori ho scelto una combinazione che fa subito oriente: rosso, nero, oro... non vi vengono in mente gli oggetti o i mobili laccati? :-)
